‘the risingringers ride round rutland reservoir’…

on Saturday September 22nd, the risingringers took a trip around Rutland Water!a group of about 20 people cycled (or the lazy ones drove!) around the reservoir, stopping off to ring at 4 towers. if you want to have a look at the route, the map is available here

starting at North Luffenham (6, GF, 11 cwt) at 10:30, we cycled up the road to Edith Weston (6, 7 cwt). next a lunch break for some, or a bit of cycling first, before completing the mammoth ride! then after trekking up the hill no-one expected, we arrived at Upper Hambleton (5, GF, 10˝ cwt). after a ring there, and a load up of bikes in various cars and a cattle trailer it was over to the last tower Braunston (6, GF, 10 cwt).

in all it was a brilliant day! if you missed it – make sure you come next time!

if you would like to see photos of the day, they are available online via request. please just send an email for access.

the risingringers is a brand new guild group for young ringers, and we really want you to join us! keep checking the risingringers page for news of events and get touch with
