leicester diocesan guild of church bellringers welcomes the central
council of church bell ringers
for
the second session of the 39th council
Leicestershire
is a county of enormous diversity which cannot fail to inspire you -
from the buzz of the city to the peaceful English countryside
Leicester
itself is a vibrant and energetic multi-cultural city, brimming with
great shops, restaurants, bars, museums and entertainment. But just a
few minutes away are beautiful rolling fields, winding waterways,
ancient woodland, the national forest, historic country towns,
picturesque villages and of course brilliant bells and perfect pubs!

Ringing
tour: Bells old, bells new and a train
All
are welcome on a very special experience. After ringing at local
towers we will take a train along the Great Central Railway to
Loughborough. Here a visit is planned to the world
famous
Taylor’s Bell Foundry. There will be a chance for a guided
tour
with access to the casting chamber, museum and
further ringing before
returning to Leicester. There are different options for this tour for
those travelling by car
or by minibus
and steam train
Social
evening: pleasant surroundings
An opportunity to stroll down the Golden Mile and join us for a three
course Indian buffet featuring north Indian cuisine at:
The Curry Pot, Belgrave
Road.
Cost circa £12.50, depart 19.30

Foxton Locks is combined with some surprising and spectacular

Council of Church Bell Ringers 109th Annual Meeting
Will
be held at the All Nations Centre, Frog Island. Further details are

For
visitors not at the meeting it is hoped to arrange a tour to local
places of interest in the County

tour: Cheese and Pork Pie
A
visit to the Melton Mowbray area: home of Stilton, king of cheeses,
the scrumptious original pork pies and Melton hunt cake. Full details

and Quarter-peals
We shall be happy to make
arrangements for those wishing to ring a peal
or quarter-peal over the weekend. A form to book this is
